Liquid Crystal having a Deuteriated Cyclohexane Ring (2) : Influence of Deuteriation on Some Physical Properties of a Liquid Crystals

Abstract

Physical properties with transition temperatures, entahlpies, elastic constants and dielectric anisotropies of liquid crystals with deuteriated cyclohexane rings were measured and compared with those of the corresponding on-deuteriated liquid crystals. The deuteriation of cyclohexane ring reduces the melting temperature and the melting nthalpies. The elastic constants and elastic constants ratio K₃₃/K₁₁ are discussed.
