Abstract
This is to report three cases of acute disseminated lupus erythematosus (erythematodes) observed in our clinic and confirmed by postmortem examination.
Case I. a 24 year old female with erythema (butterfly type), visceral manifestation, articular, cardiac and renal disturbances, hypofunction of the bone marrow and skin lesion like dermatomyositis.
Remarkbl symptoms were:
1). Dysfunction of suprarenal cortex:
She had typical so-called adrenal crisis which was confirmed by various clinical examinations and was relieved after the application of the Thorn's treatment-method (of adrenal chissi).
The application of K. acetici (dose; 15g. daily) provoked the same crisis.
In view of the condition observed as sbove and the autopsie findings the author belived, that the dysfunction of supra-renal cortex was the cause of these symptoms.
2). Vascular lesions:
Purpura, so-called Osler's nodules, dilatation and proliferation of skin capillaries, acute parotitis etc. in the same time.
The changes of retinal vessels were found in parallel with these general vascular manifestations.
The post-mortem examination revealed the vasucular lesions of all visceral organs.
Almost same results were obtained in Case 2 and Case 3.
The author considers that general visceral vascular lesions are fundamental in disseminated lupus erythematosus (Erythematodes) as Baehr, Klemperer and Schifrin (2) aeported already.
The so-called remittent cachectic course (14) which was reported by Reifenstein was noted in our cases too, and moreover the relationship between these symptome and the dysfunction of suprarenal cortex was clinically confirmed.
