A wide band large anechoic chamber is essential for measuring the characteristics of antennas and multipath effects in the navigation system.
This paper describes the construction of the wide band large chamber, in which walls are composed of foam polystyrene containing carbon powder and thin ferrite tiles, and the test results of electrical characteristics of the chamber.
The test results indicate that VSWR of the walls is less than 1.2 in the frequency range of 100MHz and up for perpendicular incident wave.
However, VSWR is over 1.2 in the some lower frequency range at the oblique incident wave.
Consequentry, the chamber is available for the normal measurements of antenna and multipath effects in most cases.
