Abstract

ATC simulators and simulation techniques are necessary for us to research, develop and evaluate air traffic control systems. ATC simulation is performed in two ways. One is real time simulation using a dynamic simulator. The other is fast time simulation that is an ordinary sort of computer simulation techniques.

In Chapter 1 the historical progress of the ATC dynamic simulator in NAFEC is described, and some notes on the real time simulation techniques too. Chapter 2 shows a method of traffic sample generation for the real time simulation.

Chapter 3 and Chapter 4 contain the authors' works. The former describes the simulator hardware system which had been installed here in the Electronic Navigation Research Institute. The latter describes the layout of the software and some programs actually written by the authors.
