Abstract

We made an evaluation on the improvement achieved by the method of Independent Synchronization using received data in night time at Electronic Navigation Research Institute for two years, from November 1981 till September 1983. In addition, we tried to predict the fluctuation of Line of Position (LOP) after analyzing statistically every previous day's data for improving the following day's data and to control.

A pair composed by the Master station (TATEYAMA) and the Purple Slave station (HAMAOKA) of the kanto Decca Chain has adopted Independent Synchronization using the Cesium frequency standard in night time since November 1982. Thereafter, the magnitude of fluctuation of the Purple station's LOP has reduced by 33% in regard to 1σ compared with the data of the year before. Accordingly, the position fixing accuracy has been improved by 32% and 12% in regard to the Green-Purple pair and the Purple-Red pair respectively.

On the other hand, an application of the Time Series Analysis to night time received data resulted in such a great improvement of 45% (1σ) in the position fixing accuracy.
