In this paper, new effective method of detecting defects for MLS AZ phased array antenna is proposed.
This method utilizes the amplitude/phase characteristics obtained by processing the difference of two signals, one is the normal received signal and the other is the one received when antenna failure occured.
By this method, we can calculate the defected portion of antenna with high accuracy, And these results are confidenced by simple experiment have confirmed these results by experiment.
