An Experimental Aeronautical Telecommunication Network Simulation System

Abstract

This report presents an experimental aeronautical telecommunication network (ATN) simulation system, of which purpose is to study problems resulted from an implementation of ATN and to check its feasibility. The ATN utilizes the network technology of the open systems interconnection (OSI) reference model, and it is designed to present a global data networking infrastructure in aeronautical telecommunication. With the simulation system, we conducted communication and network management experiments, and we also checked international organization for standardization (ISO) routing feasibility within a domanin base.

This report first describes an outline of ATN, ATN routing structure and its address plan. Then it describes about the simulation system and experiment results.
