Abstract

The ATN (Aeronautical Telecommunication Network) is designed to present a global internetworking infrastructure for future aeronautical telecommunications. This report presents the development of the ATN security functions conducted by ENRI (Electrocin Navigation Research Institute) and the interoperability tests between ENRI and STNA (Service Technique de la Navigation Aérienne). The ATN security utilizes the Elliptic Curve Cryptography. This report first describes the outline of ATN security. And then it describes individual exchange procedures of security items between BIS (Boundary Intermediate System)s and CM (Context Management) applications, and shows the implementations of ATN security functions on the protocol stack of experimental simulation system called EAST (Enri ATN Simulation Test bed). To evaluate the performance of the ATN security, we conducted a laboratory experiment with EAST. The results of this experiment are also described in this report. And we also conducted interoerability experiments of CM applications and CM security functions between ENRI and STNA, to validate ATN Air/Ground and security SARPs (Standards And Recommended Practices). The outline and the results of the experiments are also described in this report.
