Abstract

There are several interesting results in quantum information theory behind the recent remarkable progress in information theory. This article focuses on the contribution of quantum information theory to information theory, and explains the role of quantum information theory in the progress in information theory, which indicates that the results of quantum information theory are applicable to other research areas.
