Abstract
This paper describes a sensor network system previously developed by the author. The author has developed a relay system for a sensor network with high failure resistance that continues to operate even if a large-scale disaster occurs, and by making use of this achievement, a relay network composed of more than 600 transponders has been built and operated in Shiojiri city, Nagano Prefecture. Also, by using this relay network as a test bed, the author has developed various applications and used them in districts of Shiojiri city and other areas. This paper describes the development of ICT obtained from the construction of a test bed based on these experiences and the specific results, with some remarks on the methods of building and operating a test bed.
