Abstract
GPGPU, general-purpose computing on graphics processing units, has become a means of solving large and complicated problems. It is also expected to be used for LSI design and verification, which deal with large problems in this paper, we summarize the trend of the improvement in the computation time of LSI design using GPU from the following two viewpoints. The first is how the graphic processor GPU was developed, and how it has come to be used for general science computation. The second is how the capability of the GPU has increased and its application to large and complicated LSI design problems, now and in the future.
