Abstract
We have developed highly moisture-resistant optical adhesives for optical communication. These cyanogen-free and silane-modified adhesives are less allergenic and much safer for environments than conventional adhesives. These adhesives contain organic and inorganic hybrid structures and their median times to failure by deterioration are 11-132 times much longer than that of the conventional adhesive Epotek-353ND. Their adhesion characteristics are also good for other adherends. Furthermore, their high power resistivity and polarization maintaining property are better than those of the conventional adhesive Epotek-353ND.
