Abstract
Since 1967 screening of dogs supplied from nonconditioned random-source have been made. The animals were classified into two categolies for either long or short-term experiment, based upon the findings on dilofiloria infection, serum total protein, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, hematocrit and A/G ratio. And the following data were obtained:
1) Those available for long-term experiment were found to be only 23.9% of 1293 dogs examined. 2) After the treatments for dirofilaria or other endoparasites and the improvement of nutritional conditions, 35.2% of dogs were available for long-term experiments.
