A 20ml of blood samples was obtained from two groups of beagle dogs once and three times a week respectively and investigated hematologically for the period of five weeks. Statistically significant decrease (p<0.05) in hematocrit, hemoglobin, MCV (mean corpuscular volume) and MCHC (mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration) were shown even in a group obtained blood once a week. Moreover significant decrease of erythrocyte and MCH (mean corpuscular hemoglobin) were added in a group obtained blood three times a week. It is suggested for planning an experiment that blood for clinical examination should be collected as little volume and as long in collecting interval as possible to prevent anemia due to clinical examination.
