Abstract

In the Peruvian Amazon, where valuable forest ecosystems have been preserved, a field survey was conducted as a part of an international joint research project for the conservation of endangered tree species. This paper describes the collection of leaves and cambium for DNA extraction and fresh branches for grafting and cuttings of big-leaf mahogany and cedro, both known as very expensive timber species.
