Abstract
Application of glucose oxidase (GOD) to enzymatic bleaching of linen fabrics was attempted. The optimum conditions for production of hydrogen peroxide by GOD were investigated. The bleaching effects of GOD were evaluated in terms of the whiteness index (WI) comparing with those obtained using commercial hydrogen peroxide. In addition, effects of an acetate buffer and activators such as urea and Prestogen SP on hydrogen peroxide are also discussed in terms of WI and SEM micrographs.
