The wet board is dried in the dryer until the moisture content decreases to 10%. Conditions of drying are effected by humidity in air, drying temperature, method of drying and others. The authors has modified Lewis' Equation and introduced new drying equation for adiabatic counterflow of air, as follows:- W = Free moisture of stock, kg-mol of water per kg of bone dry stock. H = Humidity of air, kg-mol of water vapour per mol of dry air. Subscripts 0 and 1, show discharging condition of both air and stock. HW= Wet balb humidity of air. V=Veloicty of air in dryer, cm per sec. R = Rate of discharge of bone dry stock, kg per sec. R'= Total weight of bone dry stock in the dryer in kg. L = Thickness of stock in cm. r= Ratio of air to stock, kg-mol of dry air per kg of bone dry stock. And an example is calculated by the above equation.
