Abstract
Along with the recent development of the artificial fibre industry, the examination of a single fibre has become an important factor in determination of the quality of the fibre. Up to the present, however, there has been hardly any apparatus that renders a satisfactory service for this end. Receiving an impetus from this situation the authors have worked and recently developed an apparatus just to meet the requirement and obtained the result of complete satisfaction. In this article the authors first give a brief description together with a comment on each type of the fibre testing apparatus existed up to the present, and then introduce the apparatus of their own invention by giving a thorough description of its construction as well as its operating characteristics.
