As large vessels are not affected substantially by wind waves, few studies have been conducted on them when their significant wave height is below 1 m. However, in small boats of 19 gross tonnage, rolling of more than 30° may occur at both amplitudes despite the significant wave height of 0. 9 m. Although a 30° roll does not cause capsizing, it increases the chances for workers on the deck to fall overboard. Hence, saying that falls overboard in cold sea or at night can lead directly to death is not an overstatement. In this study, a linear autoregressive model was used for estimating the power spectral density function and analyzing the time series data of sea surface displacement. The time series data with a significant wave height of less than 1 m were used for analysis and reconsideration.
