Abstract
Applying yellow phosphorus dissolved in various solvents, i. e. Ringer's solution, the defibrinated blood of rabbits, olive oil and alcohol, to the isolated frog's heart from its inside or outside, the author obtained the fact that phosphorus exerts a depressant effect on the heart which, however, developed but very slowly and slightly, although some investigators insist on its strong action on this organ.
