Abstract
In this article we show the development and the evaluation of a goalkeeper agent for RoboCup simulated soccer. After we describe the strategies of UvA Base team and its goalkeeper used as our base team, several defects of the goalkeeper are pointed out. We developed a goalkeeper which has a human-like strategy. We show two kinds of experimental results through games with a number of opponent teams. In the first experiment the goalkeeper has the same teammates in its developing environment. This experiment enables us to compare our developed goalkeeper with UvA Base's goalkeeper. The second one involves the combination of the developed goalkeeper and different teams. In this experiment we evaluate the performance of the developed goalkeeper compared to the original goalkeeper from UvA Base and the other team's original goalkeeper. The results of the experiments show the performance of the goalkeeper is improved.
