This paper describes a new algorithm of the Self-Organizing Relationship (SOR) network for an efficient digital hardware implementation. In SOR network, the weighted average takes heavy cost for calculation. To overcome this problem, we propose a fast calculation algorithm for the weighted average by using "active units" only. Beside this, we also propose a new generating technique of the membership functions by presenting its width on power-of-two to a given parameter, to suit well with digital hardware bit-shift process. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce 93% of the calculation cost without declining the calculation accuracy.
