A mathematical model of trust and its application to security

Abstract

This paper studies a mathematical model for trust from view point of information security. A trust is a notion defined by a set of relations over entities. Based on the requirements on degree of trustworthiness, we examines the model due to Sun et al. in [3] and points out the issue of trust propagations. We proposed a new model for trust and clarified fundamental properties of our model.
