Abstract

Color deficiencies have a specific color vision that some colors are indiscriminable for them. Therefore, they sometimes cannot receive the information expressed by differences of colors. To cope with this problem, several investigations have been carried out. Contrast of indiscriminable colors in an input image can be improved by color conversion. In this report, we focus on the dichromacy, which is a kind of color deficiencies, and propose the color conversion method for it. In the proposed method, the contrast improvement is realized by modification of the lightness components in dichromacy. There are the protanopia, deuteranopia, and tritanopia in dichromacy. Then, we devised our method to cope with those color visions.
