Abstract
Blog (weblog) is a popular tool in the internet age. Many celebrities write their messages to their blogs. However, some blog pages are illegible for person with low-vision or color-blindness. This paper proposes the improvement method of the illegibility by the control of contrast and color combination between text color and the background color. The contrast enhancement is based on the web content accessibility guidelines 2.0 by world wide web consortium. The control of color combination is done by the conversion of colors of text and background in consideration of color confusion line on xy chromaticity diagram. Colors on the color confusion lines are recognized as a same color for color-blindness. This method was implemented by PHP and examined by a visual test. In the test, subjects with dichromatic spectacles judged the illegibility of improved blog pages on a display. Results showed the feasibility of the proposed method.
