Abstract
We investigate an identification method of the camera model
in constructing a 3D room model from digital photographs
semiautomatically through user interactions.
The precise information about the position and posture of
the camera in the target room provide a CG of 3D room model
based on digital photographs.
In this paper,
we present the identification method of the position and the posture
of the camera model from digital photographs
semiautomatically through user interactions
and develop a support system based on our proposed method.
The system is composed of 6 functions:
(i) generates a 3D room model based on the information of
hight, width and length of the target room,
(ii) generates a camera model in the 3D room model,
(iii) creats a wire frame model of the 3D room model,
(iv) obtains a coordinate of the referrence point
through a mouse action,
(v) corrects the the position and the posture
of the camera model in the room model
based on the coordinate of the pair of the referrence points
in the wire frame model and the digital photograph,
and (vi) displays the wire frame model and the digital photograph
together.
The system identifies the position and the posture
of the camera model from digital photographs
by specifying the pair of the referrence points on GUI
even though it is difficult to specify the referrence points
because of poor image quality and existance of obstacles.
Thus, the system enable a robust identification of the camera model.
