Abstract
The omni-directional camera can take images in all direction in one cycle. On the other hand, the PTZ camera can visualize distant objects using the zoom function. However, its dead angle is also larger than that of the omni-directional camera. Here, we propose an OPTZ system (Omni-directional Pan-Tilt-Zoom camera), which combines a hyperbolic mirror used for omni-directional camera and one PTZ camera. OPTZ consists of both a hyperbolic mirror and PTZ camera that can take the image of the mirror. OPTZ realizes the function of both taking an overview image and focusing on a particular distant object. We performed an experiment to detect the ball to confirm the performance of the OPTZ and detection system proposed above. In this report, the images were obtained from the OPTZ mounted on the soccer robot.
