Abstract
In this paper, we propose a method to allocate membership functions of Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), which is applied to coronary plaque boundary extraction in Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) image. In the proposed method, a plaque boundary is interpolated by the polynomials inferred by the fuzzy rules. The membership functions in the antecedent parts of the fuzzy rules are automatically allocated by PSO. The proposed method improved the accuracy of plaque boundary extraction.
