Abstract
In this research, we propose an automatic generation method of melody used genetic algorithm according to user's favorite. In our systems, an operator provides some tones to us first, and we design a fitness function of tone rows based on the degree of harmony which is a part of general music theory and frequency of provided tones. Next, genetic operations such as crossover, mutation and selection are executed in the search space of two octaves, and the first tone rows obtained relatively higher evaluation is generated finally. In this paper, we confirm the effectiveness of this system by constructing the simulator that generates tone rows and accompaniments, and performing the comparison questionnaire of melody made by the simulator and user.
