Abstract
Because visual attention is so important for train drivers to operate trains safely, analysis of their attentive action may lead to knowledge to improve their vigilance and information retrieval skills. In this paper, by means of Interpretive Structural Modeling, we try to extract characteristic eye movement patterns to distinguish train drivers with different levels of expertise. The result shows that the method can extract characteristic patterns in attentive action from train driver's eye-gaze time series.
