Abstract
This paper proposes a logotype design method using user's drawing rough sketches of desired logotype. In this paper a rough sketch is a trial drawing of logotype layout expressing user's image of desired logotype with a single color and simple lines. A user evaluates presented design candidates and the presented candidates are modified according to user' s evaluation by Interactive Genetic Algorithm so that they reflect user's image. A user can modify the logotype design candidates by sketching as necessary. The procedures are repeated until a user is satisfied with logotype design. This paper also explains two types of experiments for the confirmation of proposed method validity: whether the method supports logotype design or not, and whether sketch inputs are useful or not. Experimental results show the usefulness of the proposed method.
