Abstract
The sensation of color translucency can be achieved through 2D design that implies shape and line continuity and by adjusting the colors of the design. This paper describes an experimental design intended to collect data on the sensation of translucency for a given set of color shapes in a design. A model is constructed to infer sensations such as opacity, translucency, transparency in the given set. Five standard observers provide the data for the foundation fuzzy system. This paper also proposes employing the same experimental protocol with interactive GA to include a wide variety observers and environments in the translucency model.
