Abstract

Automobile is changing along with a direction from an existense being merely a vehicle for moving to the one having various value-added functions. There are many examples of such direction as automatic brake by detecting forwarding obstacles, unmanned group crusing by communicating with forward and backward vehicles, and ohter safety driving and automated driving technologies. Also the use of battery of an electric car for home electricity usage with smart charging and re-charging scheduling has been investigated. As is referred by a term of "car robotics", there are many recent researches focusing on similarity of mobile robots and cars where a problem may arise that human aspect inside a cabin is not so fucused on and it is a topic to be investigated in near future. This research investigates a possibility for automovile not only a vehicle for merely moving to a destination, but also being a partner of human, by utilizing intelligent information processing techniques to watching over a car driver inside a cabin. By building a reliable relation between a car driver and a car based on communication between them, this reserach may directs methods for giving relieved to the driver, applications to enhance safety and confortability by watching over a car driver by a automated system. By enumerating functions necessary to such applications, this reserach disbusses on methods to achieve the functions.
