Abstract
In recent years, 3D depth sensor became popular and we can purchase them at low price. However, a large amount of 3D data complicate real-time processing. In order to improve the processing speed for 3D depth data, we propose a data structure, called Multilayer Mosaic. In this paper, we developed a system that detects surfaces and calculates their angles from depth data using Multilayer Mosaic. The experiment shows the improvement of processing speed without losing much accuracy.
