Abstract
This paper describes a caricature drawing reflecting impression and deformation of a model's face. For the caricature drawing the following information is expressed by words: A hair style, a gender of a model, facial features such as a face shape, eyes, eyebrows, a nose, a mouth and ears, impression of a face, and the exaggerated part of a face to be drawn using deformation. Fuzzy sets are used for the expression of the meanings of words, which are defined as the parameter values of facial features. A caricature is drawn based on the results of the fuzzy sets operation. Caricature drawing candidates are presented to a user. If a user is not satisfied with presented ones, a user can modify them by words. The modification procedures are repeated until a user is satisfied with presented caricature drawing. The parameter values are updated based on the modification results for the reflection of impression and deformation of a model's face. Experiments are done for the confirmation of the effectiveness of the presented facial caricature drawing method. The experimental results show that the presented method can draw a caricature reflecting impression and deformation of a model's face.
