Abstract

Conventional research suggests that emotional expression of robot affects human’s motivation. There are studies that studied the learning effect of children by an emotional expression of a robot, but there are few studies using the emotional expression by a humanoid robot to improve human motivation in sports or games. In this research, in order to investigate the influence on human motivation improvement by emotional expressions of a humanoid robot during a game, we conduct experiments of repeatedly performing scissors between a humanoid robot that expresses emotion and a person. Experimental results verify the influence of the humanoid robot emotional expression on human motivation.
