Abstract

As concrete placement works accompany many types of manual-skilled works, such as operation of equipment, it is critical to pass down the empirical knowledge of skilled technicians to younger, inexperienced ones. However, a great many skilled technicians are continuously leaving/changing their jobs, and many are getting older. Therefore, skill succession is an urgent problem. As a solution to this, one measure is to transfer the empirical knowledge of skilled technicians to younger ones by measuring and accumulating it, and converting it to explicit knowledge using sensor and image processing technologies. The authors have already shown the possibility that vibrator operations for concrete compaction may be connected to empirical knowledge from factual surveys of construction standards and so on, suggesting a need for developing a method for measuring vibrator operations in future. The purpose of this study is to invent a method for measuring vibrator operations in concrete placement.
