Abstract

In this study, we construct the MAS model for evaluating the environmental sustainability of transport policies in a local city. Specifically, it is possible to evaluate the proposed transport policy that combines the bicycle promotion policy, the public transport promotion policy, and charging for carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, we apply a hierarchical Bayesian logistic regression model to construct the car commuting refrain model that includes individual heterogeneity and social interaction. The car commuting refrain model is incorporated into the MAS model. By applying this MAS model, the sustainability can be evaluated from multiple aspects such as promotion of public transport use, promotion of bicycle use, increase of physical activity, and reduction of carbon dioxide emissions by using automobiles.
