The effectiveness of limiting the number of visitors in Arashiyama, Kyoto

Abstract

In this paper, we introduce the capacity in each destination to avoid congestions or overcrowded in each famous place and movements of tourists in Arashiyama, Kyoto, Japan. It is very important not only to prevent coronavirus infection, but also to evade concentrations of tourists in famous places. We compare simulation results with limiting the number of visitors against those without it. We found that the introduction of the capacity is effective in avoiding overcrowded in famous places.
