Abstract

It is said that bringing together diverse talent and exchanging opinions from various back-(breakpoint)grounds and ways of thinking leads to innovation. Therefore, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) are now major social issues. However, compared to other countries, Japan has a low ratio of female students receiving higher education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields, and there are also very few female engineers working in companies. We will report on the current state of DE&I at companies and universities associated with the Japanese Society for Fuzzy Theory and Intelligent Infor-(breakpoint)matics (SOFT), and explore our collaboration between industry and academia to promote DE&I through.
