Basic survey on the similarity between the abilities to comprehend the distances of objects in the VR environment and the real environment

Abstract

Providing VR (Virtual Reality) environment can reduce the remote operator’s workload and reliable remote control. To drive safely, the remote operator must have accurate distance perception in the VR environment. This paper surveys the influence of distance perception of remote control in VR environments. The experiment evaluated the similarity of perceived distance from the subjects in VR environment and real environment.
