Abstract

In this study, we aim to establish efficient and accurate 3D mapping technology within forests using multiple small drones. First, we confirm whether it is possible to measure trees in outdoor environments using cameras mounted on small drones and Visual SLAM technology. Next, we integrate the 3D data obtained from multiple drones to generate a consistent map. Finally, we measure multiple trees in outdoor environments using multiple drones, integrate the obtained 3D data, and generate a wide-area map.
