In recent years, educational–support robots have attracted much attention. This study focuses on a partner-type robot which learns together while solving problems. In the previous study, it has been reported that a robot equipped with the Problem–Number Negotiation Method, in which the learner decides the number of problems to be solved while conversing with the robot, can motivate the learner to learn more. Moreover, a robot that provides learning support based on the Cognitive Apprenticeship Theory is suggested to provide high learning effects to learners. By combining these two features, we believe it is possible to realize a partner–type robot that not only enhances motivation in collaborative learning but also provides high learning effectiveness. Therefore, this paper constructs an Apprentice Problem Negotiation Method that combines the Problem–Number Negotiation Method and Cognitive Apprenticeship Theory.
