Abstract
The electrophysiological properties of mesencephalic trigeminal (Mes V) neurons in NMDA-induced trigeminal activity are still unknown. In this study we show how NMDA application affects Mes V neural activity. Additionally, we investigated the properties of subthreshold sodium currents (persistent and resurgent sodium currents) under NMDA application. NMDA application blocked rhythmical burst discharge and reduced the flow of subthreshold sodium currents in Mes V neurons.
