Gypsum from the Matsuo Mine, Iwate Prefecture

Abstract

A new occurrence of gypsum in the Matsuo sulfer mine is noted and the morphological data (Table 1), measurements of the optical constants and chemical analysis (Table 3) are described. Specific gravity is 2.329. Crystals have a special habit in shown in Fig. 1.
