Abstract

Corundum has been grown by slow cooling technique at temperature range 1, 260_??_850°C, cooling rate 15°C/hr, from molten salt of PbF2 75, Al2O325 mol. % in 30ml. Pt-crucible. Grown crystal has a hexagonal platy habit consisting of c(0001), r(10_??_1), d(10_??_2) and R(01_??_2), 10×10×0.2mm in size. On (0001) face, distinct triangular or hexangular growth patterns are obserbed.
