Abstract
Focusing on Japanese college students, first, we used the semantic differential method to psychologically analyze the impressions on some tourist spots including those in Japan. We then employed statistical techniques to figure out the correlation between the analysis and the students’ personality traits as well as travel experiences. This study is expected to provide guidance to encourage young people to travel abroad more. For example, managerial implications include supporting travel agent recommendations to specific destinations depending on the student’s specific personality.
