Abstract
Currently, endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is widely performed in the treatment of most cases of differentiated mucosal gastric cancer in Japan. In general, however, the lesions located on the gastric cardia and pyloric ring are considered to be technically difficult for ESD, because these lesions are hard to approach tangentially and have an anatomically complicated curvature. In this article, we outline the method and knack of ESD that we usually perform for the lesions located on the gastric cardia and pyloric ring using the IT knife-2 system.
