Abstract
We report herein on a case of severe ulcerative colitis with gastroduodenitis. A 61-year-old man was admitted to our hospital. He had bloody stools, left lower abdominal pain and nausea. He was diagnosed as having severe ulcerative colitis with a gastric ulcer based on colonoscopy, computed tomography scans and mucosal biopsy. This patient was treated with intensive GMA, tacrolimus, 5ASA oral drug and enemas. After remission, the tacrolimus was exchanged for 6MP. This patient improved and healing of the colonic and gastric mucosa occurred. Tacrolimus is effective for the treatment of severe ulcerative colitis with gastroduodenitis accompanied by ulcerative colitis.
