Abstract
A 41-year-old woman was referred to our hospital following a positive fecal occult blood test. A colonoscopy showed Isp-like tumor 20 mm in diameter adjacent to the hepatic flexure in the transverse colon. The tumor was excised by laparoscopic partial resection of the transverse colon. The lesion was diagnosed as a neurinoma of the colon up on histological analysis of the excised specimen. A colorectal neurinoma is very rare. The vast majority of neurinomas arise as a submucosal tumor. Meanwhile, the lesion in this case we report presented a pedunculated tumefactive lesion. Pathological examination also indicated that the lesion arose from the Meissner's plexus nerves.
